Yes we are still here!
It has been many seasons since I last posted. A lot has changed over the years. Old stories end. New stories begin. As they say, "time changes everything". Priorities change. But as things change, there are still things that remain constant, remain unchanged.
Fatdog is one of them.
Fatdog is still alive. Still kicking. Still actively maintained. By the same Fatdog team. Though we don't announce every single changes that we make, updates still trickle to Fatdog package repository. Eventually, when the time comes, there will be another release.
In the meanwhile, enjoy.

I have not found a distro so versatile, fast and with such inexhaustible boot options, as FatDog64 ... until now!
But the irony is it is a resurrected build you, JB, donated to woofce i.e. woof-CE-next ... now officially abandoned due to "lack of interest". Should have used this term as a precaution "Apparent lack of interest " - somethings need time to grow.
I had used it in the past and did some tests, as did others. Although I lack expertise I make up for it in endless drive! And now with the aid of an expert coder (ai), I can learn faster and achieve my objectives in a more technically acceptable way, sort of!
So, I have built Debian Trixie using FatDog64-902 initrd with one custom stanza at the end handing-off to a 'newroot'. I also built the fatdog init in rust for another experimental Alpine linux basefs, all working! Both boot/shutdown much faster. The trixie desktop is faster, uses systemd and pipewire on X11 (currently). The build recipe was updated retrospectively, after initial build got to desktop, then built it out with missing components, such as xdg stuff. Now adding polish and custom binaries such as yay, a fork of yad-gtk3, with new widgets, --filebrowser --fb-dual; --media (gstreamer backend) with bookmarking ; --terminal; --image-grid; SNI uses --indicator not --notification; --wm (MCP); --graph (with --listen updates graph as data arrives); --paned 2 or 4 panels. And a custom OpenBox better for HiDPI and touchscreens.
Just saying thanks for your great work upon which I am building something primarily for myself, and I feel is a little more adventurous!
Anyway Cheers!
